Risk Benefits

For you and your family

What if something happens? With good risk protection, an unexpected turn of events can at least be cushioned financially. That is why Fresenius Medical Care offers more than just a pension - disability and death benefits are integrated into our Company Pension. If the worst comes to the worst, the Company Pension alone cannot guarantee the standard of living you are used to. However, it does make an important contribution.

The benefits

Disability pension

You will receive a disability pension if you are fully or partially disabled. In the case of a temporary diminished earning capability, you will receive the disability pension for as long as the temporary reduction lasts. The amount of the disability pension is calculated in the same way as the old-age pension. The requirements for receiving a disability pension are

  • At least five qualifying years of service with Fresenius Medical Care or with a Fresenius company
  • Pension certificate for your statutory reduced earning capacity pension
  • You work a maximum of 50% of your original working hours due to reduced earning capacity or you leave Fresenius Medical Care.

Survivor’s pension

In the event of death, your spouse or partner will receive a lifelong pension amounting to 60% of your pension entitlement. The payment is only annulled in the event of remarriage.
The requirements for drawing a pension are:

  • At least five qualifying years of service with Fresenius Medical Care or previously with an eligible Group company
  • The marriage must have existed before the start of retirement
  • Children receive an orphan's pension amounting to 10% of your entitlement for as long as child benefit is paid.
