Social Security Contribution Ceiling (SSCC)

The Social Security Contribution Ceiling (SSCC) is the limit of gross income up to which contributions must be paid to the statutory pension insurance scheme (2025: EUR 8,050/month). The SSCC is adjusted annually in line with income trends. Employees and employers do not pay pension insurance contributions for salary components above the SSCC.

Years of service

Years of service are rounded up from the beginning of the 7th month and counted as a full year of employment. Training periods at Fresenius Medical Care are counted as years of service. Prerequisite: You have been taken on as a permanent employee directly after your training.

Average level of employment

The level of employment expresses how your employment relationship compares to a full-time position. The average level of employment refers to your entire period of employment at Fresenius Medical Care.

Individual entitlement

The individual entitlement can be issued in addition to the salary. It regulates the crediting of salary components above the SSCC.

Reduced earning capacity

A reduction in earning capacity exists if you can only participate in working life to a limited extent due to health restrictions. A distinction is made between partial and full reduction in earning capacity. Partial if you can still work 3-6 hours a day, full if you can only work a maximum of 3 hours. In the event of reduced earning capacity, you are entitled to a pension due to reduced earning capacity from the statutory pension insurance scheme and, under certain conditions, to a disability pension from Fresenius Medical Care.

Pensions-Sicherungs-Verein (PSVaG)

In the event of insolvency of Fresenius Medical Care, the Pensions-Sicherungs-Verein a.G. (PSVaG) ensures the provision of all pensioners entitled to benefits and the continuation of all vested pension rights. Membership of the PSVaG is compulsory - around 100,000 German companies pay contributions and thus share the risk of possible defaults. This is what makes our Company Pension so secure.
